550 miles

We left Wheeling this morning at 6 a.m. or so and made it to St. Louis in time for a short nap and dinner with the Graves clan - "table for 12 very loud people, please!"  A good start on our journey.

I drove happily, following Tim across 4 states, listening to satellite radio, moving my neck around, and wondering at what land looked like beyond Missouri (I've never driven passed Kansas City.)  What caught my attention the most today were the convoys of utility trucks heading to the east coast.  Over and over, convoys of 4-8 trucks zoomed by.  By Dayton, I saw a huge military cargo plane taking off and heading east.

As we head in the opposite direction for a new start, my heart and prayers are with my friends on the east coast, especially for our former neighbor, Vermont.
